Rome is an 80’s Baby born in Harlem, NY to a family of 7. For over 10 years Jerome has championed his craft as a portrait and beauty photographer working with beauty influencers and major brands across the world. In 2019, Jerome launched Visibooth, a premium photo booth servicing all events based in LA and NY.
rome's daily routine:
“My daily routine consists of waking up early to either get to work or lay down on my phone for another hour. I'm usually an early riser but this lockdown slowed that down a bit. After that, I freshen up and cook breakfast while I check email and catch up on shows and daily sites that I frequent each day for new content. I take a few hours after to complete some editing or shoot images for current client work and then jump on the PS4 to play 2K20 with my 6-year-old nephew for an hour. Some days I will take a walk outside or sit on my roof and FaceTime loved ones to get out of the house and get fresh air. When the day of over I try to go to sleep every day around 11 pm to keep a decent sleep schedule.”
on getting started in his career:
“I grew up with a knack for entrepreneurship throughout high school. I started a blog in 2006 featuring lifestyle, music, art, and more, where I took photos of my friends with a pocket camera as we went to industry events throughout NYC. I wasn’t exposed to the world of photography until I was laid off during the 2008 recession. Unable to find a job, I decided to make my own money and not rely on a job. I went on to learn photography and the business of it from the ground up using my severance pay, 2 years of unemployment, and YouTube University. Trial and Error along with having the drive and persistence to learn something new every day, turned in year 12 of shooting photography full time, shooting for celebrities while traveling the world, specializing in beauty and portraits and shooting and directing content for notable brands.”
rome’s self-care routine:
“My current self-care routine has been my new skincare regimen I do every day and night. I never had bad skin but my skin is very dry. Someone suggested a regimen that I was able to adapt and do daily which makes me feel great after.”
